Trained Early Childhood Teachers in Loomis, CA
Little Orchard Preschool, Inc. is a developmentally appropriate preschool program for children ages two to six years of age. We also provide afterschool care for children in elementary school.
We provide a hands on active learning environment designed to promote development cognitively, socially, emotionally and physically.
We believe that each child is unique and each child develops at their own rate, not like anyone else. This characteristic of individuality should be nurtured and encouraged.
Our philosophy is based on the belief that young children need an environment where active learning can occur and where the environment provides developmentally appropriate learning opportunities so that children can learn through hands on experiences.
Teachers carefully plan and set up the environment to facilitate development in important developmental areas for children such as language and literacy, math and science, music, movement, creative representation and social relations. Every child has a unique learning style, their own interests and level of development. It is our goal to foster the growth and development of every child toward their greatest potential. We want to provide an environment which sets each child up for future success.

Our Staff
Our Staff qualifications exceed the state licensing requirements. Teachers are well educated in Early Childhood Education and Child development holding a Child Development Permit from the State of California, child development units, an associate’s, bachelor’s or master’s Degree in Child Development.
All Staff hold a current child CPR and First Aid Certificate and a Health and Safety Certificate.
Teachers attend annual workshops to keep up to date in current research and teaching methodologies in Early Childhood Education and Child Development. In addition, all staff have training in the High/Scope research based approach to early childhood education. Teachers are specifically trained in language and literacy, math and science, creative representation, music and movement and social/emotional development using the High/Scope method for helping children gain initiative and a love for learning. High/Scope is an active learning program that engages children in the learning process. Teachers carefully plan foundational educational activities that children are interested in. Teachers have the necessary knowledge in child development to engage children's interests as well as support their continuing development in all the crucial foundational skills and concepts. Since 1991, we can attest that children who have attended our program are highly successful in their future educational journey. The key is to help children to develop a higher level of thinking, ability to make positive choices, the initiative to engage in and have excitement and interest for learning and social competence.

I believe every child is unique and it is important to acknowledge their unique needs, interests, and background. I always strive to be an active listener and co-learner with children. I consider a good learning environment along with active participation and supervision helps young ones to build a bond and trust with us. I believe in play-based methods, hands-on activities, and experiences that enhance all-around developmental milestones of children.
