Little Orchard Preschool, Inc. is a developmentally appropriate preschool program for children ages two to six years of age at the Loomis and Rocklin sites with a school age option (5-12) at our Loomis site.
We provide a hands on active learning environment designed to promote development cognitively, socially, emotionally and physically.
We believe that each child is unique and each child develops at their own rate, not like anyone else. This characteristic of individuality should be nurtured and encouraged.
Our philosophy is based on the belief that young children need an environment where active learning can occur and where the environment provides developmentally appropriate learning opportunities so that children can learn through hands on experiences.
Teachers carefully plan and set up the environment to facilitate development in important developmental areas for children such as language and literacy, math and science, music, movement, creative representation and social relations. Every child has a unique learning style, their own interests and level of development. It is our goal to foster the growth and development of every child toward their greatest potential. We want to provide an environment which sets each child up for future success.

A Word From the Program Director
I am Susan Piette, the owner and Program Director of Little Orchard Preschool, Inc. in Loomis and on the Sierra College Campus in Rocklin.
I have owned Little Orchard Preschool for 19 years. I received my M.A. Degree in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College, a BA Degree in Child Development from Sacramento State University, Sacramento, I hold a Child Development Program Director Permit from the Commission on Teacher Credentialing, an AA Degree in Early Childhood Education from Sierra College, and an Early Childhood Education Program Management Certificate from American River College. In addition, I graduated from The Phoenix Schools Founder's Business Academy for small business.
Little Orchard Preschool, Inc. is a member of the Professional Association for Childhood Education (PACE) & the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). I serve on many child development boards and have been a facilitator for NAEYC classes to help further the education of California's preschool teachers and taught Child Development and Life Span Development courses to University students.
My personal goals are to provide a high quality program for children; education for their families; to promote a sense of community and continuity between home and school for children; and to provide a learning site for practicing teachers in the field of Early Childhood Education.
I enjoy the opportunities I have to talk with families about goals they have for their children. I know our program makes a difference and encourages a lifelong love of learning in children. That is why I am passionate about our program. I welcome you to stop in for a tour of the facility, to meet the staff and observe the children's program. I look forward to meeting you.
Sincerely,
Susan Piette | |
